As a golfer you have many options to improve your skills. Use your golf club to practice stretching and you will find that there are many way to stretch yourself. You can practice these exercise anywhere, in fact even in your office or home. With the golf club in your hand the stretching exercise could be more productive. When you are doing the stretching exercises with the golf club in your hand you are practicing putting power in your swing.
Golf Posture: The most critical aspect of the golf swing is the golf posture. Practice and exercise in this posture. This will show fast result. Try imitating your sport movement with stretching and resistance. Performing the stretching exercise this way strengthens the exact muscles involved in inaction of the swing consistently for 18holes of golf.
Combination: A combination of two or more stretching exercises can maximize the productivity of the time invested. When you stretch two set of muscles at the same time the time for executing the swing decreases and at the same time there is much more power in the swing.
Rectification of faults: The effectiveness and efficiency of your swing is reduced by the swing faults that you commit regularly without even noticing or becoming aware of it. You have to isolate these faults and rectify with specific stretching exercises.
A slicer usually comes over the top swiping across the ball. This makes the ball spin right to left. This happens because your body goes first into action. On the contrary the body should have initiated from the ground.
Improper external rotation of the lead shoulder could be another frequent mistake. This is because of limited external rotation of the shoulder. The shoulder needs to rotate properly.
Your golf performance depends on the flexibility. This flexibility can be increased effectively by stretching exercises. One has to strictly follow a routine of stretching exercises to improve upon his/ her performance.
The stretching exercises sometimes last for 10 minutes and sometimes can last as long as 40 minutes.
Stretching can be practiced before golf, on the course and after golf. You can make a big difference on the first tee by doing 3-4 golf stretches , thus warming up your key swing muscles before the golf. Touching the toe with the club could be your best stretching exercise on the course. You can get relief from golf soreness if you practice stretching for 5 minutes after the golf.
